One Argument

These pieces were written separately, about a person, a brand, and an organization. They turned out to be the same argument three times over.

The same engine reads all three. Each one tells a stated story, what it claims to be. Each one tells a lived story, what it actually does. And each one is read by others into a perceived story, the version that survives out in the world. The distance between those stories is where trust quietly drains away, in a person, a company, or a country, and the word for closing that distance is the through-line of everything that follows. Coherence.

The collection moves from the inside out, from the self to the system, because the principle is easiest to feel in your own life and easiest to act on in your work. Read Part One for the human truth underneath it. Read Parts Two and Three to watch the identical law scale up to a brand and then to an entire organization. It is one pattern, all the way up and all the way down.
